Evolutionary Funding Collaboratory

Evolutionary Funding Collaboratory (EFC), currently a program of Evolutionary Futures Lab (EFL), explores and catalyzes radically more just, sustainable, and flourishing futures through relationship building, transcontextual learning, collective action, and collaborative funding.

EFC was originally launched in October 2015 as Evolutionary Leadership Community. Our founding members created a flexible support structure that values knowledge sharing and eliminates financial and time pressure. Since then, we have funded numerous member-led workshops and have recently shifted our strategic focus to funding place-based systems transformation work and related transcontextual learning. This shift drives our current institutional updates that set conditions for expanding our reach through membership growth and partnerships with external funders while staying grounded in the integrity of our purpose and values. This means we are moving slowly.

Our newly adopted Operating Principles, as of January 22, 2023, govern our Collaboratory and its members, focusing on the core values of diverse systemic perspectives, justice, sustainability, flourishing, non-violent economics, and collective decision-making. We strive to welcome a diverse range of members and facilitate opportunities for engagement while maintaining accountability and fostering self-governance. Our Practice Council is responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures as well as overseeing the operations of the Collaboratory, while the Stewardship Council supports our development through advice, resources, and voluntary service.

Please note that we are currently updating our infrastructure and onboarding processes in accordance with the new Operating Principles and migrating to new technology. As a result, we are not ready to accept new members at this time. However, if you are interested in joining our community in the future, we encourage you to fill out our interest form. We will notify you when we are ready to accept new members and provide further instructions on how to apply.
